This year, for the first time in many years, NKR will organise an international kendo tournament, March 1st and 2nd. Registrations are coming in, shimpan have been arranged, but we are still missing people for the score boards and tables. And these are indispensable! That is why we are looking for volunteers.
For beginners it is the perfect chance to see shiai of international level, and to learn the rules of shiai. Moreover, you can meet many kendoka from inside and outside of the Netherlands.
It involves the following tasks:
- Keeping time
- Putting the scores on the board
- Fill out the results on forms
Even when you are only available for one of the two days, we can use your help. Please contact your dojo leader and/or the organisers through iijimacup@gmail.com

Sayoonara party
Saturday evening the first day of tournament will be festively closed with a Sayoonara party at restaurant Lai & Wai, near Central Station Amsterdam. Op 1 en 2 maart 2013 organiseert de NKR voor het eerst in jaren een internationaal kendo toernooi in Nederland. De inschrijvingen lopen binnen, de shimpan zijn geregeld, maar de mensen voor bij de borden en achter de tafels zijn onontbeerlijk, en daar zoeken we nog vrijwilligers voor!
Voor beginners is het een uitgelezen kans om wedstrijden van internationaal allure te zien en de regels van shiai te leren. Bovendien leer je ook allerlei kendoka van binnen en buiten Nederland kennen.
Het gaat om de volgende taken:
- Tijd bijhouden
- Score ophangen
- Resultaten op formulieren invullen
Ook als je maar één van de twee dagen kunt, zouden we je goed kunnen gebruiken. Neem contact op met je odjo leider en/of de organisatoren via iijimacup@gmail.com
